Wormy Maple Samples Group 1

Wormy Maple Wormy Maple (aka Ambrosia Maple) is the most dramatic wood that we offer. The unique marking in the wood is caused by Ambrosia fungi, which is found in association with Ambrosia beetles. The beetles bore into the trunk of the tree, bringing with them the ambrosia fungi, which subsequently stains and discolors the surrounding wood. This striking “wormy” pattern does not affect the final performance of the lumber in any negative way.

Purchase of this listing provides 2 pieces of wood, each finished on 2 sides. You can request 2 different species with 2 different stains for each. You will receive a total of 2 pieces of wood, with 2 stains (or no stain) on each. Please type a note with your choices.

We only use solid hardwood from Appalachia USA. Wood is a natural product and takes stains in different ways. Final color depends on many factors and we cannot guarantee an exact color match between your sample, other Etsy photos and future furniture orders.

All wood samples are finished with Tung Oil after stain is applied.
