Hand crafted in Appalachia USA from White Oak which is very popular and durable wood for high quality furniture. No veneers or compressed particle boards are used. The wood that is not normally seen (such as for slats) is a different hardwood species.

The photos show the King canopy bed created in White Oak with grey dye applied. This is the ship soon bed available.

The bed is configured for a mattress resting on slats at about 18" above the floor. The king size has a center support under the slats that is not shown in the photos. 20 slats are provided.

The sides and end board bottoms are about 11" above the floor and are about 8" tall. The bed outside measurements are width 79", length 84.5".

The height of the top of the head board is about 44" above the floor and it is made up to two boards for total about 22" top to bottom.

The posts and rails are about 2.5" x 2.5" square top to bottom and are 84" tall. The canopy rail corners butt into the post with no visible hardware.

Most furniture in high priced stores is made of pressed materials with thin veneers. Such materials are easily damaged and are difficult to repair. They also often give off unhealthy fumes.

The bed is shipped in pieces that lay flat in the box. This enables better protection of the product and lower shipping costs. The assembly based on detailed instructions is performed by the buyer. This design is also helpful for people who move because it permits more compact shipping and storage.
