Hand crafted in Appalachia USA from solid Cherry, a very popular and durable wood for high quality furniture. No veneers on compressed particle boards are used. The wood that is not normally seen (such as for slats) is a different hardwood species.

The bed in stock is created for a King mattress size in Cherry with tung oil finish. It is a nice tall bed, so please review the dimensions which are different from the CbRnP4 listed for sale in our shop.

Photo 10 shows a bed created with these measurements in Walnut with bedding on it. Please note the customer mattress thickness is 9". You may want to check your mattress thickness adding the floor to top of slats 20.25" to see what the height of the sleeping surface would be for you.

The bed is a platform configuration for use with only a mattress. 20 slats are provided. The space between the slats is about 1.5". Photos 2 and 3 show the support beam under the center of the slats which has 3 legs.

Most furniture in high priced stores is made of pressed materials with thin veneers. Such materials are easily damaged and are difficult to repair. They also often give off unhealthy fumes.

The bed is shipped in pieces that lay flat in the box. This enables better protection of the product and lower shipping costs. The assembly based on detailed instructions is performed by the buyer. This design is also helpful for people who move because it permits more compact shipping and storage.
