Hand crafted in Appalachia USA from solid Cherry with Jacobean 2750 stain. The photos were taken of the actual bed in stock. The bed is in stock, but not the trundle. Upon your request, we can create the trundle when you place your order. See below. Cherry is a very popular and durable wood for high quality furniture. No veneers on compressed particle boards are used. The wood that is not normally seen (such as for slats) is a different hardwood species.

The approximate primary dimensions are: Floor to bottom of the upper bed side board = 13"; height of top of the slats for the upper mattress above the floor = 19" which is about 1" below the top of the side boards, height of top of head board above the floor = 55". The bed outside measurements: about 63.25" wide and about 92.38" long.
The trundle part shown in the photos is not in stock. As you can see in the dimensions above, the bed platform is rather tall due to being created for use with a trundle. We can create a trundle for you to be ready within a couple of weeks from your order date.
But if you like the floor to bottom of the mattress height of 19" you can use the bed as is without the trundle. The amount for the trundle would be refunded to your payment method should you decide not to order it.
Standing at the foot of the bed looking at the headboard, the photos show the trundle pulled out to the left. This bed is the same on both sides, so the trundle can be pulled out from the right or the left. The trundle rolls on 6 wheels. The trundle also has about 20 slats that are near the bottom of the trundle.
The bed in stock for ship soon is designed for a Queen mattress about 10" to 12" thick on the top platform bed, and the trundle is designed for a Queen mattress maximum thickness 10".
The bed is configured for the upper mattress resting on slats with tops about 1" below the top of the sides. There is a center support under the slats that is supported by a beam leg at the head end, and rests on a ledge attached inside the foot end board. The center support beam is a sturdy T-construction. The space between the slats is about 1.5". 19 slats are provided.
Most furniture in high priced stores is made of pressed materials with thin veneers. Such materials are easily damaged and are difficult to repair. They also often give off unhealthy fumes.
The bed is shipped in pieces that lay flat in the box. This enables better protection of the product and lower shipping costs. The assembly based on detailed instructions is performed by the buyer. This design is also helpful for people who move because it permits more compact shipping and storage.
Shipping costs are not automatically calculated by your zip code. The United States shipping cost is the 48 state base cost to which a regional adder must be applied. When checking out, please click the shipping upgrade box to choose your location in one of the three regions listed to set the regional adder. A quote for shipping to Alaska, Hawaii, or Canada can be provided upon request.
