Hand crafted in Appalachia USA from solid hardwood cherry which is very popular and durable woods for high quality furniture. The photos in this listing show cherry wood species with natural tung oil finish. The bed in stock is cherry wood with no stain and no tung oil. The bed in stock may be equal or similar to the photos shown on this listing. The list price for this King bed includes and natural tung oil finish, but if desired, you can purchase the bed sanded, ready to finish at an $80 discount, or request that we apply stain and tung oil finish for added cost $80 invoiced separately.

No veneers or compressed particle boards are used. The wood that is not normally seen (such as for slats) is a different hardwood species. Drawer bottoms are of high quality 1/4" plywood. The list price includes 6 drawers. This bed is nearly complete but since the drawer structure is not finished, you have the option to choose cubbies in place of any or all the drawers. The bed is a platform configuration for use without box springs. The bed is configured for a mattress resting on slats at the same level as the top of the sides. The king bed has a center support under the slats that is not shown in the photos. The space between the slats is about 1.5". 20 slats are provided.

The sides sit on the floor and are about 18" tall. The length for a king is about 83". The width for a king is about 81.25". The width of the bed is about 5" wider than your mattress and the length is about 3" longer than your mattress.

If you choose drawers, the drawer box interior useable depth will be about 11.5" tall, 20" wide, and a little less than half mattress width for depth, face to drawer back.

The drawers glide on side mount steel ball bearing drawer slides. The drawers are opened by pulling on the bottom of the drawer faces.

The bed is shipped in pieces that lay flat in the box. This enables better protection of the product and lower shipping costs. The assembly based on detailed instructions is performed by the buyer. This design is also helpful for people who move because it permits more compact shipping and storage.
