Hand crafted in Appalachia USA from solid hardwood maple, a very popular and durable wood for high quality furniture. The wood that is not normally seen (such as for slats) is a different hardwood species. Drawer bottoms are of high quality 1/4" plywood.

The listing price is for the bed in stock, King size with 4 drawers in Maple finished with Tung Oil. The bed in stock may be equal or similar to the bed in the photos.

The bed is a platform configuration for use without box springs. The bed is configured for a mattress resting on slats at the same level as the top of the sides. The lower head and foot boards are designed .5" taller than the slats, which holds the mattress in place head to foot. Or upon request, the slats can be positioned lower. This bed has a center support under the slats that is shown in photo 9. The space between the slats is about 1.5". 20 slats are provided.

The sides sit on the floor and are about 14" tall. The bed approximate outside measurements are 84.75" long and 80.75" wide

The top of the head board is about 39" above the floor and is about 15" tall. The bottom of the headboard is approximately 10" above the top of the slats.

Drawer box sides are about 9" top to bottom. Drawer box widths are 32" for king. Drawer box depth face to back of drawer are 38". The drawers glide on side mount steel ball bearing drawer slides.

Most furniture in high priced stores is made of pressed materials with thin veneers. Such materials are easily damaged and are difficult to repair. They also often give off unhealthy fumes.

The bed is shipped in pieces that lay flat in the box. This enables better protection of the product and lower shipping costs. The assembly based on detailed instructions is performed by the buyer. This design is also helpful for people who move because it permits more compact shipping and storage.
