Hand crafted in Appalachia USA from solid hardwood walnut, a very popular and durable wood for high quality furniture. No veneers or compressed particle boards are used. The wood that is not normally seen (such as for slats) is a different hardwood species.

The bed in stock may be similar or equal to the bed in the photos. The listing price is for California King bed including added cost of Walnut with natural tung oil including taller canopy posts and extra top grid canopy rails.

The bed in the photos is configured for a box springs and mattress including 5 slats with the bottom of your box springs about 10" from the floor. You can request a platform configuration with the top of the slats about 15" from the floor. There is a center support under the slats.

The bed is about 4.5" wider than your mattress and about 4.5" longer than your mattress.

The sides and end board bottoms are about 8" above the floor and are about 8" tall.

The height of the top of the head board is about 44" above the floor. See photo #10 showing the headboard at approximately that height with bedding and pillows.

The posts are about 2.5" x 2.5" square top to bottom and are 88" tall. The top rails are about .9"wide x 2.5" tall. Three added canopy rails create a stunning grid pattern. This bed has a square cross section rail that permits attachment without visible bolts.

Most furniture in high priced stores is made of pressed materials with thin veneers. Such materials are easily damaged and are difficult to repair. They also often give off unhealthy fumes.

The bed is shipped in pieces that lay flat in the box. This enables better protection of the product and lower shipping costs. The assembly based on detailed instructions is performed by the buyer. This design is also helpful for people who move because it permits more compact shipping and storage.
