Hand crafted in Appalachia USA from solid hardwood white oak, a very popular and durable wood for high quality furniture. The wood that is not normally seen (such as for slats) is a different hardwood species. Drawer bottoms are of high quality 1/4" plywood.

The bed in the photos is the bed we have in stock, created in white oak with CG271 stain and finished with natural tung oil. Made for a standard King mattress, the bed is about 78.5" wide and about 84.5" long. The platform overhangs the face of the drawers and the foot end board about 7.375" on each side and end of the bed.

This bed has 2 drawers that roll on wheels and can pull out from either the left or right side of the bed. Inside the drawer front to back of the drawer box is about 62" reaching from side to side under the platform top. Top to bottom depth is about 7.5" for lots of storage.

At the head end, the cubby has a sanded smooth plywood interior and is accessed from either side of the bed behind a panel with a magnetic catch.

The bed is a platform configuration for use without box springs. The bed is configured for a mattress resting on slats at about the same height as the top of the sides. The king bed has a center support under the slats that is not shown in the photos. The space between the slats is about 1.5". 20 slats are provided. The floor to the top of the slats is about 14.5".

The top of the head board is about 45.5" above the floor.

The last photo shows the foot right corner of the bed. Notice that two smooth low profile connector bolt heads are visible at the foot end of the top side frame.

Most furniture in high priced stores is made of pressed materials with thin veneers. Such materials are easily damaged and are difficult to repair. They also often give off unhealthy fumes.

The bed is shipped in pieces that lay flat in the box. This enables better protection of the product and lower shipping costs. The assembly based on detailed instructions is performed by the buyer. This design is also helpful for people who move because it permits more compact shipping and storage.
