Hand crafted in Appalachia USA from solid hardwood (cherry, oak, maple, walnut (walnut is extra cost)). These are very popular and durable woods for high quality furniture. No veneers or compressed particle boards are used. The wood that is not normally seen (such as for slats) is a different hardwood species. Drawer bottoms are of high quality 1/4" plywood.

The bed is custom made for you. The listing price is for natural wood color finished with Tung Oil. This creates a beautiful natural bed. For an additional $200, you can choose from a wide range of colors of MinWax oil based stain.

NdRnV02 is shown in photos 1 through 4. The photos show the bed made with natural walnut wood finished with Tung oil.

NdRnV02 is a platform configuration for use without box springs. The bed is configured for a mattress resting on slats about 1" below the top of the sides. The queen and larger bed sizes have a center support under the slats that is not shown in the photos. The space between the slats is about 1.5". 20 slats are provided. The height of the top of the slats is about 14" but I can make the height what is best for you.

The approximate size of the drawer boxes is:
For Queen: 6" tall x 18" wide x 25" front to back
For King: 6" tall x 18" wide x 34" front to back

Instead of the equal drawer widths, you can ask for the drawers at the head end to be shorter and the others wider and equal to each other. If you want this type a note with your order to please tell me the distance that you like from the wall side of the head post to the start of the face of the second drawer. This distance should be a couple inches more than your bed side table. Price is not changed.

The height of the top of the head board is about 48" above the floor.

The width of the bed is about 3" wider than the mattress and the length is about 7" longer than the mattress.

NdRnV02b is shown in photos 5, 6, and 7. They show a bed with the bottom of the side frame about 1.5" above the floor for a kick space. You can request the side frame to be at the floor and gain 1.5" of drawer height. The height of the top of the slats and sides is about 14" but I can make the height what is best for you.

The bed is about 2" wider than your standard mattress and about 6" longer than your standard mattress.

The drawers glide on steel ball bearing drawer slides. The drawer boxes are about 8.5" tall x 35" long x 19" wide for a king size bed.

The head board shown is a frame for the addition by the customer of an upholstered panel which is available with your request. The bed in this listing provides a solid head board (not the one in the photo). The height of the top of the head board is about 46" above the floor.

NdRnV04 is shown in photos 8, 9, and 10. This bed listing is very similar to NdRnV04b; the difference is that this listing has a toe kick indent space at the bottom. For an added cost you can request drawers at the head end of the bed instead of the two fixed position panels. You would then have 6 drawers total.

The top of the head board is about 48" above the floor. The head board and the foot board have a recessed area around the edges.

Relative to a standard mattress size, the bed width is about 7" wider and the bed length is about 7" longer.

The 4 drawers glide on steel ball bearing drawer slides. There is a fixed position panel at the head end of the bed that looks like a drawer face. This provides space for a bedside table.

The photos show the board below the bottom of the drawers as recessed from the
back of the drawer face a couple inches. This recess is not provided with this listing because it wastes space. It makes the drawer boxes about 2" shorter. I have made the bed without this but I have not been able to take good photos.

Most furniture in high priced stores is made of pressed materials with thin veneers. Such materials are easily damaged and are difficult to repair. They also often give off unhealthy fumes.

The cost of shipping is included in the listing price for shipping to a location in the 48 states that can be reached by the delivery truck. If your location is different, please ask us to suggest a shipping solution for you. A quote for shipping to Alaska, Hawaii, or Canada can be provided upon request or you can use a freight forwarder and ask us to ship to the forwarder.

Our wood is from the forests in the Appalachian region of the United States that have been harvested for hundreds of years. Wood is God's natural creation and as a result grain patterns and variation in color and character in the wood are different in each piece of furniture and will not be a match with the listing photos. The unique color, grain and appearance are part of the unique one-of-a-kind qualities of your furniture.

Beds are shipped in pieces that lay flat in a box and require assembly. This enables better protection of the product and lower shipping costs. Detailed instructions are provided. Dressers, desks, shelves, and bedside tables ship fully assembled except for some that need to be attached to a wall and a few that have removable legs.
