Hand crafted in Appalachia USA from solid hardwood (cherry, oak, maple, walnut (walnut adds cost)). These are very popular and durable woods for high quality furniture. Click the wood choice box above to select your wood. No veneers or compressed particle boards are used. The wood that is not normally seen (such as for slats) is a different hardwood species. Drawer bottoms are of high quality 1/4" plywood.

NdFwS01 is shown in photos 1, 2, and 3. The bed is custom made for you. The listing price is for natural wood color finished with Tung Oil. This creates a beautiful natural bed. For an additional $200, you can choose from a wide range of colors of stain.

The bed is a platform configuration for use without box springs. The bed is configured for a mattress resting on slats at about one inch below the top of the sides. The queen and larger bed sizes have a center support under the slats that is not shown in the photos. The space between the slats is about 1.5". 20 slats are provided.

The sides and ends sit on the floor and are about 14" tall.

The bed length is about 8" longer than the mattress and about 12" wider than the mattress. The length for a queen or king is about 88". The width for a queen is about 72" and for a king the width is about 88".

The drawers glide on side mount steel ball bearing drawer slides. The full and larger sizes have 6 drawers and the twin size has options for 6 or 3 drawers.

The top of the head board is about 40" above the floor and the board is about 19" tall. The head board is slanted by about 8 degrees.

NdFwN01 is shown in photos 4, 5, and 6. The bed is a platform configuration for use without box springs. The bed is configured for a mattress resting on slats at about 1" below the top of the sides. The queen and larger bed sizes have a center support under the slats that is not shown in the photos. The space between the slats is about 1.5". 20 slats are provided.

The sides and ends sit on the floor and are about 14" tall. The length for a queen or king is about 89". The width for a queen is about 73" and for a king the width is about 89". For any mattress size the bed is about 9" longer than the mattress and about 13" wider than the mattress. The horizontal board on the top of the sides and foot end is about 6' wide.

The drawers glide on side mount steel ball bearing drawer slides. The full and larger sizes have 6 drawers and the twin size has options for 6 or 3 drawers. The external height of the drawer boxes is about 8.7". Box length is over half the mattress width and box width is roughly mattress length minus 18 divided by three. For an Eastern King size bed with 6 equal size drawers the outsides of the drawer boxes are about 8.7" tall, 20" wide, and 41" long. However, you can request that the head end drawers be made less wide so that the width is consistent with your bed side table. This makes the other drawers wider.

I have recently improved this design. If you look very closely at the foot end shown in the photos you will see that the lower foot board is a little taller than the top of the platform extension board. Customers have asked that the foot end platform extension board extend over the top of the foot end board creating a smooth surface at the end of the bed. So I have made that change and you will receive that unless you ask for something different.

NdFvN04 is shown in photo 8. It is slightly taller than NdFwN01. The bed is a platform configuration for use without box springs. The bed is configured for a mattress resting on slats that are recessed from the top of the sides by about 1" (but you can specify a different recess amount). The queen or king bed size has a center support under the slats that is not shown in the photos. The space between the slats is about 1.5". 20 slats are provided. The top of the slats is about 15" above the floor.

The platform extension is about 6" wide at the sides and foot end. The top of the platform extension is about 16" above the floor.

The total width of the bed is about 13" wider than your mattress. The total length is about 8.5" longer than your mattress.

NdFvN01TC is shown in photos 9 and 10. The bed is a platform configuration for use without box springs. The bed is configured for a mattress resting on slats that are recessed from the top of the sides by about .125". Queen and king bed sizes have a center support under the slats shown in photo 7. The space between the slats is about 1.5". 20 slats are provided.

The outside of the cantilever side frame is about 4" out from the drawer faces.

The top of the slats is about 10" above the floor.

The width of the bed is about 4" more than the mattress width. The length of the bed is about 4" more than the mattress length.

Drawer boxes are about 5" tall. For king size beds, drawer boxes are approximately 30" deep. For queen size beds, drawer boxes are approximately 22" deep.

Our wood is from the forests in the Appalachian region of the United States that have been harvested for hundreds of years. The unique color, grain and appearance are part of the unique one-of-a-kind qualities of your furniture.

Beds are shipped in pieces that lay flat in a box and require assembly. This enables better protection of the product and lower shipping costs. Detailed instructions are provided. Dressers, desks, shelves, and bedside tables ship fully assembled except for some that need to be attached to a wall and a few that have removable legs.
