Hand crafted in Appalachia USA from solid hardwood (cherry, oak, maple, walnut (walnut is extra charge)). These are very popular and durable woods for high quality furniture. No veneers or compressed particle boards are used. The wood that is not normally seen (such as for slats) is a different hardwood species. Drawer bottoms are of high quality 1/4" plywood.

The bed is custom made for you. The listing price is for natural wood color finished with Tung Oil. This creates a beautiful natural bed. For an additional $200, you can choose from a wide range of stain colors.

When placing your order please be sure to use the SKU (Letters and numbers ID) of the bed of your choice to get the correct style and price. Then type a note at the bottom left of the order form stating any options and variations you request, including wood species and color, to make this best for you. If you see a desired special feature in any photo, include that request in your added written note. We will send a separate invoice for the cost of your changes to the listing. NdRsV02, shown in photos 1 thru 5, is a platform configuration for use without box springs. The bed is configured for a mattress resting on slats about 1" lower than the top of the sides. The queen and larger bed sizes have a center support under the slats that is not shown in the photos. The space between the slats is about 1.5". 20 slats are provided. The height of the top of the slats is about 19" but I can make the height what is best for you.

The top of the side frame is about 20" above the floor with its bottom about 7" above the floor (this can be made shorter to make drawers larger at a higher price).

The top of the foot board is the same height as the top of the sides; about 20".

The top of the head board is about 48" above the floor. The head board is two 12" tall parts. So the bottom of the head board is about 5" above the top of the slats.

Photo 5 shows a headboard that is a frame made for the customer to use to attach an upholstery board. This is an option not included as standard with this listing. The standard headboard provided is shown in the first 4 photos.

You can request the upholstery ready headboard or a web head board like is shown in some of my other listings for an added price that will be billed after you place this order. Send an email in Etsy to get the price of these headboards.

For either the flat board head board or the frame, the head board is slanted about 8 degrees.

The 4 drawers glide on steel ball bearing drawer slides. If you don't request a change the size of the drawers are approximately 23" side to side and 7.5" height outside (about 6.5" inside). The front to back for a King bed is about 36" and for a Queen bed is about 30".

There is a covered space at the head of the bed to make room for a side table without interference with the drawers. You can ask that this space be open for a cubby or used for 2 more drawers; the cubby (with plywood floor and sides or with the same wood as bed exterior,) or the 2 drawers. Send a message in Etsy asking for the special price.

This bed is about 6" wider than the mattress and about 6" longer than the mattress.

The side frame is about 14" tall with its bottom about 7" above the floor. With the above bed dimensions, the drawer boxes are about 8.5" tall outside (inside depth about 7.5").

Most furniture in high priced stores is made of pressed materials with thin veneers. Such materials are easily damaged and are difficult to repair. They also often give off unhealthy fumes.

The cost of shipping is included in the listing price for shipping to a location in the 48 states that can be reached by the delivery truck. If your location is different, please ask us to suggest a shipping solution for you. A quote for shipping to Alaska, Hawaii, or Canada can be provided upon request or you can use a freight forwarder and ask us to ship to the forwarder.

Our wood is from the forests in the Appalachian region of the United States that have been harvested for hundreds of years. Wood is God's natural creation and as a result grain patterns and variation in color and character in the wood are different in each piece of furniture and will not be a match with the listing photos. The unique color, grain and appearance are part of the unique one-of-a-kind qualities of your furniture.

Beds are shipped in pieces that lay flat in a box and require assembly. This enables better protection of the product and lower shipping costs. Detailed instructions are provided. Dressers, desks, shelves, and bedside tables ship fully assembled except for some that need to be attached to a wall and a few that have removable legs.
