Hand crafted in Appalachia USA from solid hardwood (cherry, oak, maple, walnut (walnut is added cost). These are very popular and durable woods for high quality furniture. No veneers or compressed particle boards are used. The wood that is not normally seen (such as for slats) is a different hardwood species. Drawer bottoms are of high quality 1/4" plywood.

When placing your order please be sure to use the SKU (letters and numbers ID) of the bed of your choice to get the correct style and price. Then type a note at the bottom left of the order form stating any options and variations you request, including wood species and color, to make this best for you. If you see a desired special feature in any photo, include that request in your added written note. We will send a separate invoice for the cost of your changes to the listing. The listing you order plus your added note coupled with policy statements in this web site are the total statement of your order. Messages of any other type are not part of the order.

Each bed is custom made for you. The listing price is for natural wood color finished with Tung Oil. This creates a beautiful natural bed. For an additional $200, you can choose from a wide range of colors of stain.

Photos 1-5 show natural walnut wood finished with Tung oil..
Photos 6-9 show natural cherry wood finished with Tung oil.

The bed is a platform configuration for use without box springs. The bed is configured for a mattress resting on slats at about 1" below the top of the sides. Or upon request, the slats can be positioned differently.

The queen and larger bed sizes have a center support under the slats that is not shown in the photos. The space between the slats is about 1.5". 20 slats are provided.

NdFvS01, Standard dimensions are:
*The sides sit on the floor. Height from floor to the top of the frame around the platform is about 11.5".
*The top of the slats is about 10.5" above the floor. I will make the bed taller for a different price if you request.
*The length for a queen or king is about 85". The width for a queen is about 64" and for a king the width is about 80".
*For any mattress size, the length of the bed is about 5" longer than the mattress and the width of the bed is about 4" wider than the mattress.
*The top of the head board is about 38" above the floor and is about 20" tall made of two boards that butt together. I will be pleased to change dimensions to be best for your needs.
*Drawer box sides are about 5" tall. This can be increased by increasing the height of the sides of the bed.
*The drawers glide on side mount steel ball bearing drawer slides. The full and larger sizes have 4 drawers and the twin size normally has 2 drawers but has the option for 4 drawers.

The approximate inside, useable space measurements of the drawer boxes are:

NdFvS01-3, Photos 6 through 9 show a taller version with only 3 drawers on one side and a long cubby along the back. NdFvS01-3 Standard Dimensions are:
*The sides sit on the floor. Height from floor to the top of the frame around the platform is about 19". The top of the slats is about 18" above the floor.
*For any mattress size, the length of the bed is about 5" longer than the mattress and the width of the bed is about 4" wider than the mattress.
*The top of the head board is about 44" above the floor and is about 18" tall made of two boards. I will be pleased to change dimensions to be best for your needs.
*Drawer box sides are about 13" tall.
*The drawers glide on side mount steel ball bearing drawer slides. Please indicate which side you want the drawers to open from. The photos show the drawers opening from the left side (when standing at the foot of the bed) with a cubby space on the right side.

Most furniture in high priced stores is made of pressed materials with thin veneers. Such materials are easily damaged and are difficult to repair. They also often give off unhealthy fumes.

The cost of shipping is included in the list price for shipping to a location within the 48 states that can be reached by the delivery truck. If your location is different, please ask us to suggest a shipping location for you. A quote for shipping to Alaska, Hawaii, or Canada can be provided upon request or you can use a freight forwarder and ask us to ship to the forwarder.

Our wood is from the forests in the Appalachian region of the United States that have been harvested for hundreds of years. Wood is God's natural creation and as a result grain patterns and variation in color and character in the wood are different in each piece of furniture and will not be a match with the listing photos. The unique color, grain and appearance are part of the unique one-of-a-kind qualities of your furniture.

Beds are shipped in pieces that lay flat in a box and require assembly. This enables better protection of the product and lower shipping costs. Detailed instructions are provided. Dressers, desks, shelves, and bedside tables ship fully assembled except for some that need to be attached to a wall and a few that have removable legs.
