Hand crafted in Appalachia USA from solid hardwood (cherry, oak, maple, walnut (walnut adds cost)). These are very popular and durable woods for high quality furniture. The wood in the photos is cherry with a color added. No veneers or compressed particle boards are used. The wood that is not normally seen (such as for slats) is a different hardwood species.

Photos 1 - 4 show cherry wood stained with antique cherry dye and finished with Tung oil (this imitates cherry wood that has aged naturally several years).
Photo 5 shows natural cherry wood finished with Tung oil.

The bed is custom made for you. The listing price is for natural wood color finished with Tung Oil. This creates a beautiful natural bed. For an additional $150, you can choose from a wide range of colors of stain.

NcFnN01, photos 1 through 5, will be configured for a mattress resting on 20 slats spaced about 1.5". The top of the slats is near the top of the side frame. A center support beam will be under the slats for queen and larger sizes.

The first 4 photos show a continuous layer of slats butting against each other. This can be provided for an additional fee.

The height of the top of the platform (slats) is about 12". The side frame is about 3.5" tall and its bottom is about 8.5" above the floor.

The bed is about 3.5" wider than a standard size mattress and about 2.5" longer.

A center support beam will be under the slats for queen and larger sizes. The height of the top of the platform (slats) is about 12". The side frame is about 3.5" tall and its bottom is about 8.5" above the floor.

If you prefer, I can increase the 3.5" side frame so that the slat top can be down from the top of the sides for retention. With most mattresses with a soft bottom this retention is not mandatory; but it can help. A 1" retention adds to the price so please message me in Etsy to ask for that extra cost.

NcFnC03, photos 9 and 10, is a platform configuration for use without box springs. The bed will be configured for a mattress resting on 20 slats spaced about 1.5". The top of the slats is about 1" below the top of the side frame. The height of the top of the platform (slats) is about 12". The side frame is about 4.5" tall and its bottom is about 8.5" above the floor.

A center support beam will be under the slats for queen and larger sizes.

The bed frame is about 4.5" wider than the mattress and about 5" longer than the mattress.

The head board total width is about 37" wider than your mattress if you use the standard size tables.

The top of the head board is about 41" above the floor. The tables attached to the head board are about 15" wide x 12" front to back x 10" tall and each have one drawer. The drawers glide on steel ball bearing glides. The drawers are opened by pulling on the bottom of the drawer face which is accessible with no special features in the straight face bottom. But you can request a different size table.

The cost of shipping is included in the listing price for shipping to a location in the 48 states that can be reached by the delivery truck. If your location is different, please ask us to suggest a shipping solution for you. A quote for shipping to Alaska, Hawaii, or Canada can be provided upon request or you can use a freight forwarder and ask us to ship to the forwarder.

Our wood is from the forests in the Appalachian region of the United States that have been harvested for hundreds of years. Wood is God's natural creation and as a result grain patterns and variation in color and character in the wood are different in each piece of furniture and will not be a match with the listing photos. The unique color, grain and appearance are part of the unique one-of-a-kind qualities of your furniture.

Beds are shipped in pieces that lay flat in a box and require assembly. This enables better protection of the product and lower shipping costs. Detailed instructions are provided. Dressers, desks, shelves, and bedside tables ship fully assembled except for some that need to be attached to a wall and a few that have removable legs.
