Hand crafted in Appalachia USA from solid hardwood (cherry, oak, maple, walnut (walnut is added cost)). These are very popular and durable woods for high quality furniture. No veneers or compressed particle boards are used. The wood that is not normally seen (such as for slats) is a different hardwood species. Drawer bottoms are of high quality 1/4" plywood.

The bed is custom made for you. The listing price is for natural wood color finished with Tung Oil. This creates a beautiful natural bed. For an additional $200, you can choose from a wide range of colors of stain in our Wood Species and Colors listings.

NdRnV04b is shown in photos 1, 2, and 3. If you don't request changes your bed will be like the first 3 photos but with your mattress size, wood selection, and stain if ordered.

The bed has 4 drawers that glide on steel ball bearing drawer slides with a space at the head end covered by a fixed position panel to provide space for a bed side table. You can request drawers at the head end of the bed instead of the two fixed position panels. You would then have 6 drawers total. Added cost invoiced separately.

As another option, instead of the fixed panel, you can request an open cubby at the head end, or one with magnetic cover panels. The cubby floor and walls are plywood. Added cost invoiced separately.

This bed listing is very similar to another listing (NdRnV04 shown below), the difference is that this listing does not have a toe kick indent space at the bottom; the side boards are down to the floor. Thus, this bed has larger drawers because the kick in the other design reduces the height of the drawers. Or you can request that the sides of this bed be raised from the floor the height you request but without the kick board. You can request raised sides and also you can request a different height of the side frames.

The bed is a platform configuration for use without box springs. The bed is configured for a mattress resting on slats about 1" lower than the top of the sides. The queen and larger bed sizes have a center support under the slats that is not shown in the photos. The space between the slats is about 1.5". 20 slats are provided.

The height of the top of the slats is about 16" in the first photo which is what is provided with this listing price but I can make the height what is best for you for a different price.

The top of the head board is about 48" above the floor. The head board and the foot board have a recessed area around the edges in the standard design. The headboard bottom starts about 5" above the top of the slats. Please tell us your mattress thickness in the note on your order. We will check the placement of the headboard so it is visible above your bedding.

Relative to a standard mattress size, the bed width is about 7" wider and the bed length is about 7" longer.

The standard is to open drawers by pulling on the top or bottom. You can request cut outs as shown in several photos, or request drawer pulls. Send an Etsy message and we can quote added costs.

NdRnV04 is shown in photos 3 and 4. It is similar to NdRnV04b, but has a toe kick along the bottom. That shortens the drawer height.

NdRnV04bn is shown in photos 5 and 6. The bed is a platform configuration for use without box springs. The bed is configured for a mattress resting on slats about 1" lower than the top of the sides. The photos show a bed with the top of the slats 3" lower than the top of the sides. With the 1" lower of this listing the drawers are taller by 2" than those shown in the photos with slats down about 3".

The bed in the photos has the bottom of the side frame about 2" above the bottom of the posts which is what you will receive unless you ask for a different height.

The queen and larger bed sizes have a center support under the slats that is not shown in the photos. The space between the slats is about 1.5". 20 slats are provided. The height of the top of the sides is about 18" (top of slats is about 17" for this listing but I can make the height what is best for you).

The queen and larger bed sizes have a center support under the slats that is not shown in the photos. The space between the slats is about 1.5". 20 slats are provided. The height of the top of the slats is about 14" but I can make the height what is best for you.

The posts are 3.5" by 3.5" cross section. This is much larger than my normal size of about 2.7" x 2.7".

The height of the top of the head board is about 48" above the floor.

The width of the bed is about 8" wider than the mattress and the length is about 8" longer than the mattress.

The drawer box sides are about 9" tall for the bed with the top of the slats at about 14" above the floor. The drawer length is about half the width of your mattress: 38" for a king size, 36" for a cal king, 30" for a queen. The sum of the widths of the 3 drawer boxes is about 61" for a king or queen and about 65" for a cal king. The widths of the drawer boxes can be about the same or the head end drawer box can be less wide as is shown in the above photos.

Beds are shipped in pieces that lay flat in a box and require assembly. This enables better protection of the product and lower shipping costs. Detailed instructions are provided. Dressers, desks, shelves, and bedside tables ship fully assembled except for some that need to be attached to a wall and a few that have removable legs.
