Hand crafted in Appalachia USA from solid hardwood (cherry, oak, maple, walnut (walnut adds to cost). These are very popular and durable woods for high quality furniture. No veneers or compressed particle boards are used. The wood that is not normally seen (such as for slats) is a different hardwood species. Drawer bottoms are of high quality 1/4" plywood.

The photos show natural cherry wood finished with tung oil. When placing your order please be sure to use the SKU (Letters and numbers ID) of the bed of your choice to get the correct style and price. Then type a note at the bottom left of the order form stating any options and variations you request, including wood species and color, to make this best for you. If you see a desired special feature in any photo, include that request in your added written note. We will send a separate invoice for the cost of your changes to the listing. The bed is custom made for you. The listing price is for natural wood color finished with Tung Oil. This creates a beautiful natural bed. For an additional $200, you can choose from a wide range of colors of stain.

NdFsS04n shown in photos 1 thru 5 is a platform configuration for use without box springs. The bed is configured for a mattress resting on slats at the same level as the top of the sides. Or upon request, the slats can be positioned lower so that a Tatami mat can be placed on the slats. The queen and larger bed sizes have a center support under the slats that is not shown in the photos. The space between the slats is about 1.5". 20 slats are provided.

The sides sit on the floor and are about 14" tall. The length for a queen or king is about 83". The width for a queen is about 66" and for a king the width is about 82". The width of the bed is about 6" wider than your mattress and the length is about 3" longer than your mattress.

For King or Queen the drawer box outside dimensions are about 9" tall, 20" wide, and a little less than half mattress width for depth.

The drawers glide on side mount steel ball bearing drawer slides. The full and larger sizes have 6 drawers and the twin size normally has 3 drawers but has the option for 6 drawers. The drawers are opened by pulling on the bottom of the drawer faces.

The bed is custom made for you. You can request almost any change that you would like. The top of the head board is about 42" above the floor and is about 22" tall.

Drawer box sides are about 9" tall. The length of the drawer box is about half the width of your mattress (29" length for a queen mattress or about 37" for a king). The width of the drawer box is about 19" for a queen or king; about 17" for a full size or twin.

The lower head and foot boards are designed .5" taller than the slats, which holds the mattress in place head to foot. Or upon request, the slats can be positioned lower. The queen and larger bed sizes have a center support under the slats that is not shown in the photos. The space between the slats is about 1.5". 20 slats are provided.

Most furniture in high priced stores is made of pressed materials with thin veneers. Such materials are easily damaged and are difficult to repair. They also often give off unhealthy fumes.

The cost of shipping is included in the listing price for shipping to a location in the 48 states that can be reached by the delivery truck. If your location is different, please ask us to suggest a shipping solution for you. A quote for shipping to Alaska, Hawaii, or Canada can be provided upon request or you can use a freight forwarder and ask us to ship to the forwarder.

Our wood is from the forests in the Appalachian region of the United States that have been harvested for hundreds of years. Wood is God's natural creation and as a result grain patterns and variation in color and character in the wood are different in each piece of furniture and will not be a match with the listing photos. The unique color, grain and appearance are part of the unique one-of-a-kind qualities of your furniture.

Beds are shipped in pieces that lay flat in a box and require assembly. This enables better protection of the product and lower shipping costs. Detailed instructions are provided. Dressers, desks, shelves, and bedside tables ship fully assembled except for some that need to be attached to a wall and a few that have removable legs.
