Hand crafted in Appalachia USA from solid hardwood (cherry, oak, maple, walnut (walnut is added cost)). These are very popular and durable woods for high quality furniture. No veneers or compressed particle boards are used. The wood that is not normally seen (such as for slats) is a different hardwood species.

When placing your order please be sure to use the SKU (Letters and numbers ID) of the item of your choice to get the correct style and price. Then type a note at the bottom left of the order form stating any options and variations you request, including wood species and color, to make this best for you. If you see a desired special feature in any photo, include that request in your added written note. We will send a separate invoice for the cost of your changes to the listing. CbFwN1 is shown in photos 1 through 4. The bed is custom made for you. The listing price is for natural wood color finished with Tung Oil. This creates a beautiful natural bed. For an additional $200, you can choose from a wide range of colors of stain.

CbFwN1 canopy posts are about 2.8" x 2.8" square top to bottom and are 84" tall. The top rails are about 2.5" x 2.5" square.

The sides and ends sit on the floor and are about 11" tall (platform top about 11" above the floor).

CbFwN1 is a platform configuration for use without box springs. The bed is configured for a mattress resting on slats at the same level as the top of the sides. The queen and larger bed sizes have a center support under the slats that is not shown in the photos. The space between the slats is about 1.5". 20 slats are provided.

The platform will be about 12 inches wider than the mattress (6" on each side) and 12" longer than the mattress (6" at the foot end and 6 inches at the head end).

So the total outside dimensions of the bed are mattress width + 12 by mattress length +12 by 84" tall.

You can request different widths of the platform side and end boards. The platform wood that is exposed at the sides and ends will be the same as all the exposed wood finished like all of the visible wood.

The 4th photo shows an optional board between the slats and the platform extension on the top of the foot board. This board (along with the longer sides and rails) can be provided to make the visible platform extension at the foot end wider than the sides. Send a message in Etsy asking for the cost of extra sizing. Type a note with your order stating the added board width you want if you want it. You can request a different extension width for a different price.

If you would like to push the mattress to the wall without seeing uncovered slats at the foot end, you can order a 6" wide slat that is finished wood the same as the exterior of your bed.

Most furniture in high priced stores is made of pressed materials with thin veneers. Such materials are easily damaged and are difficult to repair. They also often give off unhealthy fumes.

The cost of shipping is included in the listing price for shipping to a location in the 48 states that can be reached by the delivery truck. If your location is different please ask us to suggest a shipping solution for you. A quote for shipping to Alaska, Hawaii, or Canada can be provided upon request or you can use a freight forwarder and ask us to ship to the forwarder.

Our wood is from the forests in the Appalachian region of the United States that have been harvested for hundreds of years. Wood is God's natural creation and as a result grain patterns and variation in color and character in the wood are different in each piece of furniture and will not be a match with the listing photos. The unique color, grain and appearance are part of the unique one-of-a-kind qualities of your furniture.

Beds are shipped in pieces that lay flat in a box and require assembly. This enables better protection of the product and lower shipping costs. Detailed instructions are provided. Dressers, desks, shelves, and bedside tables ship fully assembled except for some that need to be attached to a wall and a few that have removable legs.
