Hand crafted in Appalachia USA from solid hardwood (cherry, oak, maple, walnut (walnut is added cost)). These are very popular and durable woods for high quality furniture. No veneers or compressed particle boards are used. The wood that is not normally seen (such as for slats) is a different hardwood species. Drawer bottoms are of high quality 1/4" plywood.

NdRsN01 is shown in photos 1, 2, and 3. The bed is custom made for you. The listing price is for natural wood color finished with Tung Oil. This creates a beautiful natural bed. For an additional $200, you can choose from a wide range of colors of stain.

The photos show red oak wood with black and white ceruse color added finished with Tung oil. I no longer offer ceruse finish, but do have black stain options that produce a similar finish.

The bed is a platform configuration for use without box springs. The bed is configured for a mattress resting on slats at about 1" below the top of the sides. The queen and larger bed sizes have a center support under the slats that is not shown in the photos. The space between the slats is about 1.5". 20 slats are provided.

The bed sides and ends are about 13" tall with bottoms 7" above the floor (top of sides about 20" above the floor). The length for a queen or king is about 87". The width for a queen is about 67" and for a king the width is about 83". For any mattress, the bed width and length are about 7" more than the mattress.

The drawer faces are about 11.8" tall and for king or queen the width is about 32.6" (30" for full).

The drawer boxes are about 8" tall with width about 7" less than the drawer face width. The drawers have a length that is half the width of the mattress. The drawers closest to the head of the bed begin about 22" from the head leaving room for a bedside table. You can request a different size to suit your existing furniture.

The drawers glide on side mount steel ball bearing drawer slides. The full and larger sizes have 4 drawers and the twin size has options for 4 or 2 drawers.

By default, 2 of the drawers open on the left side of the bed when standing at the foot of the bed, but they can be on the right side if needed. The 3rd drawer is accessed from the foot of the bed. A dummy panel is provided on the side of the bed without drawers to cover a cubby space for additional storage (shown in photos 6 and 7).

NdRsN04 is shown in photos 8, 9, and 10. The height of the top of the side boards above the floor is about 20". The bed is a platform configuration for use without box springs. The bed is configured for a mattress resting on slats about 1" below the top of the sides. The height from the floor to the bottom of the side boards is about 12.5".

With the slats about 1" below the top of the sides the width of the bed is about 6" wider than your mattress and the length is about 6" longer than your mattress.

However, all dimensions of the bed can be customized to be best for you.

The listed configuration as shown by photos 8 and 9 does not have a head board. A head board can be provided as shown in photo 10 for an added price. Other head board designs are available upon request.

Four drawers are under the bed. Two pull out on one side and two pull out on the other side. If desired, two longer drawers could be provided pulling out on one side. I can create bed side tables that don't require space at the end of the bed (see my listing for the bed side table that permits a drawer to pass through the table).

Most furniture in high priced stores is made of pressed materials with thin veneers. Such materials are easily damaged and are difficult to repair. They also often give off unhealthy fumes.

The cost of shipping is included in the listing price for shipping to a location in the 48 states that can be reached by the delivery truck. If your location is different, please ask us to suggest a shipping solution for you. A quote for shipping to Alaska, Hawaii, or Canada can be provided upon request or you can use a freight forwarder and ask us to ship to the forwarder.

Our wood is from the forests in the Appalachian region of the United States that have been harvested for hundreds of years. Wood is God's natural creation and as a result grain patterns and variation in color and character in the wood are different in each piece of furniture and will not be a match with the listing photos. The unique color, grain and appearance are part of the unique one-of-a-kind qualities of your furniture.

Beds are shipped in pieces that lay flat in a box and require assembly. This enables better protection of the product and lower shipping costs. Detailed instructions are provided. Dressers, desks, shelves, and bedside tables ship fully assembled except for some that need to be attached to a wall and a few that have removable legs.
