Hand crafted in Appalachia USA from solid hardwood (cherry, oak, maple, walnut (walnut adds cost)). These are very popular and durable woods for high quality furniture. Click the wood choice box above to select your wood. No veneers or compressed particle boards are used. The wood that is not normally seen (such as for slats) is a different hardwood species. Drawer bottoms are of high quality 1/4" plywood.

NdRsV01 is shown in photos 1 and 2. The bed is custom made for you. The listing price is for natural wood color finished with Tung Oil. This creates a beautiful natural bed. For an additional $200, you can choose from a wide range of colors of stain.

The bed is a platform configuration for use without box springs. The bed is configured for a mattress resting on slats near the top of the sides. The queen and larger bed sizes have a center support under the slats that is not shown in the photos. The space between the slats is about 1.5". 20 slats are provided.

The bottom of the sides and ends of the platform frame are about 8.5" above the floor and the edges of the platform frame are about 3.5" thick. So the top of the slats is about 12" above the floor. For added cost you can ask that the top of the slats be 1" lower than the top of the sides and foot end.

The bed in the photos has the top of the head board about 16" above the top of the slats (about 28" above the floor). You will receive this height unless you ask for a change. I can make the head board taller for a little higher price if you tell me the height you want. The taller head board requires more structure support behind the head board so is a higher price.

The bed length is about 3" longer than your mattress and the width is about 2" wider than your mattress. The length for a queen or king is about 83". The width for a queen is about 62" and for a king the width is about 78".

The drawers glide on wheels that roll on the floor. The drawers can be moved away from the bed and the space under the bed becomes totally empty except for the two leg beams.

The drawer sides are about 7.3" tall with the inside depth at about 6". For a queen or king the drawer widths are about 24". The total length of both drawers added together is about half of the mattress width.

You can ask for the drawers on one side of the bed to be less than half the width of the bed and those on the other side more than half (no added charge). This is helpful if one side of the bed is closer to a wall.

I don't recommend using these drawers on a shag or thick carpet. The wheels can get caught with the carpet strings or sink into carpet.

If you request, we can make this bed with the drawers moving on metal glides with added drawer structure under the bed for added price.

The cost of shipping is included in the listing price for shipping to a location in the 48 states that can be reached by the delivery truck. If your location is different, please ask us to suggest a shipping solution for you. A quote for shipping to Alaska, Hawaii, or Canada can be provided upon request or you can use a freight forwarder and ask us to ship to the forwarder.

Our wood is from the forests in the Appalachian region of the United States that have been harvested for hundreds of years. The unique color, grain and appearance are part of the unique one-of-a-kind qualities of your furniture.

Beds are shipped in pieces that lay flat in a box and require assembly. This enables better protection of the product and lower shipping costs. Detailed instructions are provided. Dressers, desks, shelves, and bedside tables ship fully assembled except for some that need to be attached to a wall and a few that have removable legs.
