Hand crafted in Appalachia USA from solid hardwood (cherry, oak, maple, walnut (walnut is added cost)). These are very popular and durable woods for high quality furniture. No veneers or compressed particle boards are used. The wood that is not normally seen (such as for slats) is a different hardwood species. When you order, please be sure to note your wood species and color selection in the note to the seller found at the bottom left of the payment page. The listing price is for natural wood color finished with Tung Oil. This creates a beautiful natural bed. For an additional charge, you can choose from a wide range of colors of stain.

When placing your order please be sure to use the SKU (Letters and numbers ID) of the item of your choice to get the correct style and price. Then type a note at the bottom left of the order form stating any options and variations you request, including wood species and color, to make this best for you. If you see a desired special feature in any photo, include that request in your added written note. We will send a separate invoice for the cost of your changes to the listing. NcFwV03 is shown in photos 1, 2, and 3. The first 3 photos show natural white oak wood finished with Tung oil.

The bed is custom made for you. The bed will be configured for a mattress resting on 20 slats spaced about 1.5". The top of the slats is about 1" below the top of the extended platform that is not under the mattress. A center support beam will be under the slats for the queen and larger sizes. The beam will have legs to the floor.

The platform extension shown by the photos is made to be about 4" for the sides and foot end. The height of the top of the platform extension off the floor is about 12". The clearance under the side frame is about 7".

The platform extension is made of 7/8" thick wood with a trim piece at the outer edge that is 1.75" thick that makes the entire extension look like it is 1.75" thick.

The bed frame is about 8.5" wider than specified mattress size and about 6" longer than the specified mattress.

The bed is a platform configuration for use without box springs.

The head board top is about 44" above the floor. The head board is about 1.75" thick at the top few inches and at the outside edges. The head board width is about 5" wider than the bed frame.

Most furniture in high priced stores is made of pressed materials with thin veneers. Such materials are easily damaged and are difficult to repair. They also often give off unhealthy fumes.

The cost of shipping is included in the listing price for shipping to a location in the 48 states that can be reached by the delivery truck. If your location is different, please ask us to suggest a shipping solution for you. A quote for shipping to Alaska, Hawaii, or Canada can be provided upon request or you can use a freight forwarder and ask us to ship to the forwarder.

Our wood is from the forests in the Appalachian region of the United States that have been harvested for hundreds of years. Wood is God's natural creation and as a result grain patterns and variation in color and character in the wood are different in each piece of furniture and will not be a match with the listing photos. The unique color, grain and appearance are part of the unique one-of-a-kind qualities of your furniture.

Beds are shipped in pieces that lay flat in a box and require assembly. This enables better protection of the product and lower shipping costs. Detailed instructions are provided. Dressers, desks, shelves, and bedside tables ship fully assembled except for some that need to be attached to a wall and a few that have removable legs.
