Hand crafted in Appalachia USA from solid hardwood (cherry, oak, maple, walnut (walnut adds cost)). These are very popular and durable woods for high quality furniture. No veneers on compressed particle boards are used. The wood that is not normally seen (such as for slats) is a different hardwood species. Drawer bottoms are of high quality 1/4" plywood.

NdFsN04 is shown in photos 1, 2, and 3. The bed is custom made for you. The listing price is for natural wood color finished with Tung Oil. This creates a beautiful natural bed. For an additional $200, you can choose from a wide range of colors of stain.

The bed is a platform configuration for use without box springs. The bed is configured for a mattress resting on slats at the same level as the top of the sides. Or upon request, the slats can be positioned lower so that a Tatami mat can be placed on the slats. The queen and larger bed sizes have a center support under the slats that is not shown in the photos. The space between the slats is about 1.5". 20 slats are provided.

The sides and ends sit on the floor and are about 18" tall. This is tall; you can ask for reduction if you like. The frame is about 4" longer than your mattress and about 4" wider than your mattress width. The length for a queen or king is about 84". The width for a queen is about 64" and for a king the width is about 80".

Drawer box sides are about 12" tall. The drawers glide on side mount steel ball bearing drawer slides. The full and larger sizes have 4 drawers and the twin size normally has 2 drawers but has the option for 4 drawers.

The small fixed position panel at the head end side of the bed is to provide a space for a side table beside the bed. As an option for added cost, a cubby can be located in this position. The cubby wood is plywood. The cover shown in the photos is still provided but it is removed (not hinged) easily because it is held in place with a push to open magnetic latch.

The bed is custom made for you. You can request almost any change that you would like.

NdFsN06a is shown in photos 4, 5, and 6. It is a Low Platform Bed or Tatami Bed with 6 drawers details. Please note that all dimensions can be changed to be what is best for you.

1. The bed length is 4" longer and 4" wider than a standard sized mattress. For reference, a queen or king sized bed is about 84" long. The width for a queen is 64", and for a king it is 80".
2. The drawer height for all sizes is 8.125" inches tall. The width for a king/queen size is 18.8", and for a full or double size it is 17.1". For length, they are 23.5" for a full/double size, 26.5" for a queen and 34.5" for a king.
3. The sides and ends sit on the floor and are 14" tall, with the slats near the top of the sides.
4. The queen and larger bed sizes have a center support under the slats that are not shown in the photos. The space between the slats is 1.5". 20 slats are provided.
5. The bed is a platform configuration for use without box springs. The bed is configured for a mattress resting on slats at the same level as the top of the sides. No adjustment is required for a tatami mat, but if there are concerns about your specific mat, please let us know!

Most furniture in high priced stores is made of pressed materials with thin veneers. Such materials are easily damaged and are difficult to repair. They also often give off unhealthy fumes.

The cost of shipping is included in the listing price for shipping to a location in the 48 states that can be reached by the delivery truck. If your location is different, please ask us to suggest a shipping solution for you. A quote for shipping to Alaska, Hawaii, or Canada can be provided upon request or you can use a freight forwarder and ask us to ship to the forwarder.

Our wood is from the forests in the Appalachian region of the United States that have been harvested for hundreds of years. Wood is God's natural creation and as a result grain patterns and variation in color and character in the wood are different in each piece of furniture and will not be a match with the listing photos. The unique color, grain and appearance are part of the unique one-of-a-kind qualities of your furniture.

Beds are shipped in pieces that lay flat in a box and require assembly. This enables better protection of the product and lower shipping costs. Detailed instructions are provided. Dressers, desks, shelves, and bedside tables ship fully assembled except for some that need to be attached to a wall and a few that have removable legs.
