Hand crafted in Appalachia USA from solid hardwood (cherry, oak, maple, walnut (walnut adds cost)). These are very popular and durable woods for high quality furniture. No veneers or compressed particle boards are used. The wood that is not normally seen (such as for slats) is a different hardwood species. Drawer bottoms are of high quality 1/4" plywood.

The photos 1-5 show natural cherry wood finished with Tung oil.

NdFsS01-2 is shown in the first five photos. The five photos show the configurations you can make with the bed except for one difference in the first photo. The first photo shows a foot cover board that is about 1.5" taller than the top of the slats. Please type a note with your order to state if you want the foot cover board to be the same height as the top of the slats or 1.5" taller.

The bed is custom made for you. The listing price is for natural wood color finished with Tung Oil. This creates a beautiful natural bed. For an additional $200, you can choose from a wide range of colors of stain.

The bed is a platform configuration for use without box springs. The bed is configured for a mattress resting on slats at the same level as the top of the sides. The space between the slats is about 1.5". 10 slats are provided per bed box module.

The king size bed is made using 4 square modules (38"x38"x10" tall) each with one drawer plus a 4" wide center spacer board. So the bed without the head and foot board is 76" wide by 80" long (which is the size of a king size mattress). The head board adds about 3" to the length and the foot board adds about 1".

The sides and ends sit on the floor and are about 10" tall for my standard design. The top of the head board is about 20" above the top of the sides. I will be pleased to change dimensions to be best for your needs. For example, you can order with an attached note the side height to be 15" instead of 10" (drawer boxes 5" taller) for an added cost.

The drawers glide on steel ball bearing drawer slides.

The inside of each drawer is about 33.6" wide inside by 32" front to back inside by about 5.5" tall inside.

The king size bed consists of 4 bed box modules, head board module, a foot end decorative cover, and a center spacer board. The decorative foot end cover ships only with the king size order. A twin XL size bed uses two of these same bed box modules. The head board module can be used with the king bed or the twin XL bed. The twin XL bed with the head board module can be used as a day bed (couch during the day and bed at night).

The twin size is Twin XL 38" x 80" not twin 38" x 75". The word "twin" in this listing means "twin XL".

If you order a twin size only you receive two of the modules plus if you order the option with a head board you receive the head board that attaches to the long side (two modules) not a short side (one module). If you want a twin bed with a head board on a short side look at listing NdFsS05.

The bed box modules can be turned forward or to the sides. Photo one shows the king bed (on a very cold day) with the bed box modules facing the sides so that the drawers pull out to the sides. Photo four shows the day bed configuration (twin bed with head board) with the two bed boxes facing the sides. Photo five shows the twin XL bed configuration with the bed boxes facing the front (drawers can be pulled out the front).

If you purchase the king bed with the head board you can assemble the king bed or you can assemble a day bed plus a separate twin XL bed. This can give you flexibility for serving different guests.

NdFsS03 is shown in photos 6 thru 9. The bed is custom made for you. You can request almost any change that you would like. This listing is the same as NdFsS01 except (as shown in the first two photos) for the foot cover board that is 1.5" taller than the top of the slats and also the head posts at the end of the head board instead of in from the end by about 18". Also as an option the head board top with this bed is 32" above the floor which is a little taller than in the NdFsS01 listing. You can request a different headboard height for a different price.

Our wood is from the forests in the Appalachian region of the United States that have been harvested for hundreds of years. Wood is God's natural creation and as a result grain patterns and variation in color and character in the wood are different in each piece of furniture and will not be a match with the listing photos. The unique color, grain and appearance are part of the unique one-of-a-kind qualities of your furniture.

Beds are shipped in pieces that lay flat in a box and require assembly. This enables better protection of the product and lower shipping costs. Detailed instructions are provided. Dressers, desks, shelves, and bedside tables ship fully assembled except for some that need to be attached to a wall and a few that have removable legs.
