Hand crafted in Appalachia USA from solid hardwood (cherry, oak, maple, walnut adds cost). These are very popular and durable woods for high quality furniture. No veneers or compressed particle boards are used. The wood that is not normally seen (such as for slats) is a different hardwood species.

Photos 1, 2, and 3 show natural wormy maple wood finished with Tung oil.

CdRnV03 is shown in photos 1, 2, 3, and 4. The bed is custom made for you. The listing price is for natural wood color finished with Tung Oil. This creates a beautiful natural bed. For an additional $200, you can choose from a wide range of colors of stain.

The bed is a platform configuration. The photo shows the correct placement, but with less slats than is standard. The bed is configured for a mattress resting on slats at the same level as the top of the sides. The queen and larger bed sizes have a center support under the slats that is shown in the photos. The space between the slats is about 1.5". 20 slats are provided.

The frame will be about 6" wider than the mattress (3" on each side) and 6" longer than the mattress (3" at the foot end and 3" at the head end). You can request different widths of the platform side and end boards. The wood that is exposed at the sides and ends will be the same as all the exposed wood finished like all of the visible wood.

The sides and ends are raised 3" above the floor and are about 16" from the floor to the top of the sides and end.

The canopy posts are about 2.625" x 2.625" square at the widest and are 84" tall. Starting just above the headboard the posts are tapered on four sides up to the top to about 1.5" x 1.5" square and tapered at the bottom to 1.5" x 1.5" square. The top rails are about 1.5" x 1.5" square and overhang past each other at the corners by about 1".

The standard configuration for this bed is as shown in the photos with two drawers and a dummy panel at the head end of the bed. The dummy panel is removable for extra storage. The bed can be made without a cover panel for an open cubby or with an extra pair of drawers. Please message me with inquiries or for a quote.

The bed is a platform configuration for use without box springs. The bed is configured for a mattress resting on slats at the same level as the top of the sides. This design includes cap boards on top of the paneled head board and the foot board.

The bottom of the side frames are about 7" above the floor. The top of the side frames are about 22" above the floor. The height of the top of the platform from the floor is about 22". You can request a different height.

The bed has 6 drawers; 3 pulling out from each side. The drawer at the head end (on each side) is about 12" wide and for a king size the other two are about 25" wide (but if you request all drawers can be the same width). Drawer box are about 10.5" tall. The drawers glide on side mount steel ball bearing drawer slides.

The height of the top of the head board above the floor is about 58" and the bottom of the head board will be about 28" above the floor.

The head board and foot board are paneled like that shown by the photos.

The bed posts (plus top rails) are about 84 inches tall and about 2.8" x 2.8" inches at mid height tapered on the two inward facing sides to 1.5x1.5 at the top and the bottom plus have adjustable bottoms for uneven floors. The ends of the top rails will be about flush with the sides of the posts as shown in the 10th photo. The top rails are about 1.5" square cross section.

CdRnV01 is shown in photos 8, 9, and 10. The height of the top of the side boards above the floor is about 22.5". The bed is for use with box springs. The bed is configured for a box springs resting on slats about 8" below the top of the sides. The height from the floor to the bottom of the side boards is about 12.5" and the side boards are about 10" tall. However, all dimensions of the bed can be customized to be best for you.

The listed configuration has a head board as is shown by the photos. If you don't want a head board I will give a refund depending on the size of bed ordered.

Most furniture in high priced stores is made of pressed materials with thin veneers. Such materials are easily damaged and are difficult to repair. They also often give off unhealthy fumes.

The cost of shipping is included in the listing price for shipping to a location in the 48 states that can be reached by the delivery truck. If your location is different, please ask us to suggest a shipping solution for you. A quote for shipping to Alaska, Hawaii, or Canada can be provided upon request or you can use a freight forwarder and ask us to ship to the forwarder.

Our wood is from the forests in the Appalachian region of the United States that have been harvested for hundreds of years. The unique color, grain and appearance are part of the unique one-of-a-kind qualities of your furniture.

Beds are shipped in pieces that lay flat in a box and require assembly. This enables better protection of the product and lower shipping costs. Detailed instructions are provided. Dressers, desks, shelves, and bedside tables ship fully assembled except for some that need to be attached to a wall and a few that have removable legs.
