Hand crafted in Appalachia USA from solid hardwood (cherry, oak, maple, or walnut (walnut additional cost). These are very popular and durable woods for high quality furniture. The photos show cherry wood with no color added finished with Tung oil. No veneers on compressed particle boards are used. The wood that is not normally seen (such as for slats) is a different hardwood species. Drawer bottoms are of high quality 1/4" plywood.

The height of the top of the side boards above the floor is about 20". The height from the floor to the bottom of the side boards is about 12.5". However, all dimensions of the bed can be customized to be best for you.

The bed is a platform configuration for use without box springs. The bed is configured for a mattress resting on slats that are about 1" down from the top of the sides. The space between the slats is about 1.5". 20 slats are provided. For the Queen and King sizes, a center beams runs from end to end under the slats to support them in addition to the support at the ends of the slats.

Four drawers are under the bed. Two pull out on each side.

The bookcase headboard depth is 12". The top of the headboard shelf unit is about 65 inches above the floor. The bookcase headboard has three levels of shelves above the bed. The first level has sliding doors. Under the shelves is a storage area that is accessed through 2 doors on each side.

With the slats about 1" below the top of the sides the width of the bed is about 6" wider than your mattress and the length is about 3" longer than your mattress plus 12" for the head bookcase. This length for a queen or eastern king is about 95".

My standard pull is round brushed nickel. The door and drawer pulls can be selected by the customer from most any available on the web. The price per pull and special installation will be paid by the customer.

NdRsC02b, Photos 5 through 7, shows a different headboard style. The bed is a platform configuration for use without box springs. The bed is configured for a mattress resting on slats that are about 1" down from the top of the sides. The space between the slats is about 1.5". 20 slats are provided. For the Queen and King sizes, a center beams runs from end to end under the slats to support them in addition to the support at the ends of the slats.

This bed is similar to NdRsC02 but with a shorter headboard without side cubbies.

The height of the top of the side boards above the floor is about 17". The height from the floor to the bottom of the drawer faces is about 4". However, all dimensions of the bed can be customized to be best for you.

The top of a 10" thick mattress is at about the same level as the headboard shelf. So pillows are in front of items on the shelf. Please tell us your mattress thickness and how high you would like the shelf to be above the top of your mattress (price will change).

The cost of shipping is included in the listing price for shipping to a location in the 48 states that can be reached by the delivery truck. If your location is different please ask us to suggest a shipping solution for you. A quote for shipping to Alaska, Hawaii, or Canada can be provided upon request or you can use a freight forwarder and ask us to ship to the forwarder.

Our wood is from the forests in the Appalachian region of the United States that have been harvested for hundreds of years. Wood is God's natural creation and as a result grain patterns and variation in color and character in the wood are different in each piece of furniture and will not be a match with the listing photos. The unique color, grain and appearance are part of the unique one-of-a-kind qualities of your furniture.

Beds are shipped in pieces that lay flat in a box and require assembly. This enables better protection of the product and lower shipping costs. Detailed instructions are provided. Dressers, desks, shelves, and bedside tables ship fully assembled except for some that need to be attached to a wall and a few that have removable legs.
