Hand crafted in Appalachia USA from solid hardwood (cherry, oak, maple, walnut . These are very popular and durable woods for high quality furniture. No veneers or compressed particle boards are used. The wood that is not normally seen (such as for slats) is a different hardwood species. Drawer bottoms are of high quality 1/4" plywood.

Extra cost options are billed separately. The list of sizes does not include twin XL or Full XL because the list is already very long. But these XL sizes are available for use on the upper mattress position for the same price as the twin or full. If you want to use an upper mattress that is the same length as the trundle mattress, then the upper length is a few inches longer than needed for the mattress. There are several options of what to do with that space; please ask me for suggestions.

When placing your order please be sure to use the SKU (Letters and numbers ID) of the item of your choice to get the correct style and price. Then type a note at the bottom left of the order form stating any options and variations you request, including wood species and color, to make this best for you. If you see a desired special feature in any photo, include that request in your added written note. We will send a separate invoice for the cost of your changes to the listing. The listing you order plus your added note coupled with policy statements in this web site are the total statement of your order. Messages of any other type are not part of the order.

The bed provided will be similar to that shown by the photos (color and wood is your choice, size is your choice). The first 8 photos show the vertical head board.

NtFnS01 is shown in the last 2 photos which show the bed in a shorter version with a slanted headboard. You can choose either vertical or slanted for the same price with a note attached to your order. If you don't attach a note, your order will be for the vertical head board.

The first 5 photos are cherry with no color added. Photos 6 and 7 are white oak with no color added. Photo 8 is cherry. Photos 9 and 10 are walnut. All are finished with Tung oil.

The listed configuration has a head board as is shown by the photos. If you don't want a head board I will give a rebate of $125.

The listing price is for natural wood color finished with Tung Oil. This creates a beautiful natural bed. For an additional $200, you can choose from a wide range of colors of stain.

The bed is a platform configuration for use without box springs. The bed is configured for a mattress resting on slats near the top of the sides. The queen and larger bed sizes have a center support under the slats that is not shown in the photos. The space between the slats is about 1.5". 20 slats are provided. The height of the top of the slats in the last two photos is about 12" in the photo and 18" in the other photos but I can make the height what is best for you.

If you choose a mattress size on top that is the same length as the trundle mattress, 5" wide boards will be placed at each end of the upper mattress platform that will be of the same wood as the exterior of the bed and finished the same as the exterior of the bed. The remainder of the platform boards will be a different unfinished hardwood species.

The height of the top of the platform above the floor is about 6" more than the thickness of your trundle mattress. Attach a note to your order stating the thickness of your trundle mattress and also state if the trundle mattress is a different size (eg. twin trundle and twin XL upper) than the upper mattress. Most trundle mattresses are 8" thick or less. The first 8 photos show a bed made for a 12" thick trundle mattress which makes the bed taller than normal for use as a day bed couch. If you place the order without telling me the thickness of the trundle mattress the bed will be created for an 8" thick trundle mattress.

The length provided for the upper mattress will be more than that of the trundle mattress because of the length needed for the trundle structure.

The bed has a "head board" that is vertical (or slanted if you attach a note requesting slanted) and is located on a long side of the mattress.

NtFnS01 has the headboard on the typical short side head end. The top of the head board is about 24" above the top of the platform unless you ask for a different height.

The trundle rolls on 6 wheels. The trundle also has about 20 slats that are near the bottom of the trundle.

All dimensions of the bed can be customized to be best for you.

The bed is shipped in pieces that lay flat in the box. This enables better protection of the product and lower shipping costs. The assembly based on detailed instructions is performed by the buyer. This design is also helpful for people who move because it permits more compact shipping and storage.

The cost of shipping is included in the listing price for shipping to a location in the 48 states that can be reached by the delivery truck. If your location is different, please ask us to suggest a shipping solution for you. A quote for shipping to Alaska, Hawaii, or Canada can be provided upon request.
