Hand crafted in Appalachia USA from solid hardwood (cherry, oak, maple, or walnut ). These are very popular and durable woods for high quality furniture. Click the wood choice box above to select your wood. No veneers on compressed particle boards are used. The wood that is not normally seen (such as for slats) is a different hardwood species. Drawer bottoms are of high quality 1/4" plywood.

The photos show red oak wood with grey cerused color added finished with Tung oil. Unfortunately, we no longer offer the ceruse option.

The bed is custom made for you. The listing price is for natural wood color finished with Tung Oil. This creates a beautiful natural bed.

The bed is a platform configuration for use without box springs. The bed is configured for a mattress resting on slats that are about 3" down from the top of the sides as is shown in the photos. The slats can be down only 1" from the top of the sides which will reduce the height of the side top by 2" if you request. The space between the slats is about 1.5". 20 slats are provided. For the Queen and King sizes, a beams runs from end to end under the slats to support them in addition to the support at the ends of the slats.

Here are the standard approximate dimensions of this bed:
Length for queen or king = 103"
Included in that length is the depth of the shelf unit = 18"
Height of shelf unit = 56"
Width of queen size = 68"
Width of king size = 82"
The sides and ends sit on the floor and are about 18" tall or lower if you reduce the recess of the bottom of the mattress.

Six drawers are under the bed. Three pull out on one side and 3 pull out on the other side. (Except for the twin size that has 3 drawers on one side only.) The drawers glide on side mount steel ball bearing slides.

The bookcase headboard depth is about 18". The top of the headboard shelf unit is about 56 inches above the floor. The bookcase headboard has a shelf above the bed. Under the shelves is a storage area that has drawers that pull out the back. If you plan to have the bed against the wall, I will eliminate the drawers and put doors on both ends of the head unit to access this storage space and refund the difference in cost. Message me for a quote with any changes you would like.

The bed is custom made for you. You can request almost any change that you would like.

Most furniture in high priced stores is made of pressed materials with thin veneers. Such materials are easily damaged and are difficult to repair. They also often give off unhealthy fumes.

The cost of shipping is included in the listing price for shipping to a location in the 48 states that can be reached by the delivery truck. If your location is different please ask us to suggest a shipping solution for you. A quote for shipping to Alaska, Hawaii, or Canada can be provided upon request or you can use a freight forwarder and ask us to ship to the forwarder.

When placing your order please type a note stating all of the options and variations you request to make this best for you. If you see a desired special feature in any photo include that request in your added written note. We will send a separate invoice for the cost of your changes to the listing. The unique color, grain and appearance are part of the unique one-of-a-kind qualities of your furniture.

Beds are shipped in pieces that lay flat in a box and require assembly. This enables better protection of the product and lower shipping costs. Detailed instructions are provided. Dressers, desks, shelves, and bedside tables ship fully assembled except for some that need to be attached to a wall and a few that have removable legs.
