Hand crafted in Appalachia USA from solid hardwood (cherry, oak, maple, walnut (walnut is added $475 invoiced separately)). These are very popular and durable woods for high quality furniture.

No veneers or compressed particle boards are used. The wood that is not normally seen (such as for slats) is a different hardwood species. Drawer bottoms are of high quality 1/4" plywood.

The attached photos show the bed using white oak with white stain applied.

The bed is custom made for you. The listing price is for natural wood color finished with Tung Oil. This creates a beautiful natural bed. For an additional $80, you can choose from a wide range of colors of stain.

Photos 1-6 show white oak wood with white stain added and finished with tung oil.

The bed is a platform configuration for use without box springs. The bed is configured for a mattress resting on slats at about 1" below the top of the sides. Or upon request, the slats can be positioned differently.

The queen and larger bed sizes have a center support under the slats that is not shown in the photos. The space between the slats is about 1.5". 20 slats are provided.

The sides sit on the floor. Height from floor to the top of the frame around the platform is about 11.5". So the top of the slats is about 10.5" above the floor. I will make the bed taller for a different price if you request.

The width of the platform extension on the top of the sides and foot end in the photos is about 5". The platform extensions can be wider upon request.

For any standard mattress size, the length of the bed is about 9" longer than the mattress and the width of the bed is about 11" wider than the mattress.

The top of the head board is about 38" above the floor and is about 20" tall made of two boards that butt together. I will be pleased to change dimensions to be best for your needs.

Drawer box inside depth is about 5" top to bottom. This can be increased by increasing the height of the sides of the bed. The drawers glide on side mount steel ball bearing drawer slides.

The bed has two drawers that pull out the foot end of the bed. The drawer boxes are about 32" long with a width that is about 3" less than half the width of your mattress.

We can create a bed with drawers and/or cubbies also on the sides in addition to the two at the foot end if you request.

The bed is custom made for you. You can request almost any change that you would like.

Most furniture in high priced stores is made of pressed materials with thin veneers. Such materials are easily damaged and are difficult to repair. They also often give off unhealthy fumes.

Shipping costs are not automatically calculated by your zip code. The United States shipping cost is the 48 state base cost to which a regional adder must be applied. When checking out, please click the shipping upgrade box to choose your location in one of the three regions listed to set the regional adder. A quote for shipping to Alaska, Hawaii, or Canada can be provided upon request or you can use a freight forwarder and ask us to ship to the forwarder.

Our wood is from the forests in the Appalachian region of the United States that have been harvested for hundreds of years. Wood is God's natural creation and as a result grain patterns and variation in color and character in the wood are different in each piece of furniture and will not be a match with the listing photos. The unique color, grain and appearance are part of the unique one-of-a-kind qualities of your furniture.

Beds are shipped in pieces that lay flat in a box and require assembly. This enables better protection of the product and lower shipping costs. Detailed instructions are provided. Dressers, desks, shelves, and bedside tables ship fully assembled except for some that need to be attached to a wall and a few that have removable legs.
